Locating Meta Pixel Code in Meta Business

Goal: Manually add Pixel code to website

Locating Meta Pixel Code in Events Manager:

1. Log into Events Manager
2. You should now be on the Events Manager Overview page
3. Click Data Sources
4. You should now be on the Data Sources page and on the Overview tab (the Activity Chart should be a bit further down the page)
5. Click Integrations link (it’s to the right of the Events activities link. Both links are just above the Activity Chart)
6. There should now be a bubble chart: Integrations (left column), Dataset (in center), and Used by (in right column)
7. Click on Meta Pixel
8. Click on: Install Pixel On New Website
9. Under Manually add Pixel code to website, click Install code manually
10. You should now be on the Set up Meta Pixel page
11. Under the Install Meta Pixel on your website heading and Copy base code sub-heading, click the Copy code button
12. Follow the rest of the instructions

Locating Meta Pixel Code in Events Manager (via Meta Business Suite):

Sometimes I have to start from Meta Business Suite to get to a particular Events Manager Data Source (Why? If I have multiple old/unused Dataset Assets the wrong one will be brought up and Meta will ask me to set it up from scratch):

Option 1 –> All Tools path:

• Log into Meta Business Suite
• Click on All Tools (toward bottom of left-hand menu)
• Click on Events Manager (under Advertise section)
• You should now be on the Events Manager Overview page
• Click Data Sources
• You should now be on the Data Sources page and on the Overview tab (the Activity Chart should be a bit further down the page)
• Click Integrations link (it’s to the right of the Events activities link. Both links are just above the Activity Chart)
• There should now be a bubble chart: Integrations (left column), Dataset (in center), and Used by (in right column)
• Click Meta Pixel
• Click Install Pixel On New Website
• Under Manually add Pixel code to website, click Install code manually
• You should now be on the Set up Meta Pixel page
• Under the Install Meta Pixel on your website heading and Copy base code sub-heading, click the Copy code button
• Follow the rest of the instructions

Option 2 –> Settings path:

• Log into Meta Business Suite
• Click on Settings (gear icon toward bottom of left-hand menu)
• You should now be on the Settings page for your Business
• Under Data Sources (left-ish side menu) click Datasets & Pixels
• In the Dataset Assets / Name section, click the correct Dataset Asset (in my case I have multiple old/unused Dataset Assets, so it’s important to click the correct Dataset Asset)
• In the Details view of the Dataset Asset, below the Name of the Dataset Asset, below Dataset is receiving events, click the Events Manager link
• You should now be on the Data Sources page and on the Overview tab (the Activity Chart should be a bit further down the page)
• Click Integrations link (it’s to the right of the Events activities link. Both links are just above the Activity Chart)
• There should now be a bubble chart: Integrations (left column), Dataset (in center), and Used by (in right column)
• Click Meta Pixel
• Click Install Pixel On New Website
